The LOOM: Newsletter of Tapestry Institute

Spring Equinox Edition, 2008

From the President, Jo Belasco, Esq.

Hello from sunny New Mexico!

Many people begin this season with the ritual of spring cleaning.  After being closed in for the winter months, we throw open our windows to usher in the warm breezes that carry the scents of thawing earth and blooming plants.  We do the same thing when we throw open our closets and drawers to get rid of old items, and when we feverishly clean the inside of homes that have been our havens from the harsh, but necessary, cold and snows of winter.  Our physical actions also allow us to psychologically “clean house” so we can start on new paths, just as Nature does with new growth.  We are doing the same thing here at Tapestry.

You will see that we have made some changes concerning membership and the Voice of the Horse project. These changes allow us to focus on completing existing projects, including the preparation of a book concerning our wildfire experience and research, and a push to secure funding for BearLodge.

This is an exciting time of year. I hope that you are enjoying your own spring cleaning, whatever form it takes. And I invite you to join us as we move forward with our work, buoyed by the promise of spring that Nature so graciously offers us at this time of year.

Until Summer Solstice,

Jo
