Spring Equinox Edition, 2008

Important Updates

Part of relocating, as we did in moving from Nebraska to New Mexico, involves finding your footing in a new situation. For us, that means suddenly finding ourselves engaged in securing property and establishing a research and meeting facility all over again. At the same time, we’ve also got several projects in advanced stages from our time at Sowbelly, and completing these will require tremendous energy and focus. So, given that Tapestry has only three full-time staff members, we’ve made two painful decisions that will help free up valuable time, energy, and resources:

    1. The Voice of the Horse Project’s second and final gathering (conference) has been cancelled.
    2. The Membership Program has been cancelled.
More information about The Voice of the Horse.
We are currently at work analyzing the voluminous data from the 2007 horse-human relationship survey, and preparing it, as well as information from the 2007 Gathering, for book publication. We’ll be interviewing the people we’d planned to have present at the second conference so we can include their ideas in the study. We hope to have the book submitted to a publisher this fall/winter, with a tentative publication date sometime in late 2009 or early 2010.

More information about Membership.
Existing members will be given the option of a refund or of converting their membership fee to a donation to Tapestry. You should receive an email to this effect by the end of March. We are very, very grateful to all those who stepped forward to support our mission in this way!
