Carol's been so delighted with the blooming plants of this region that she's chosen to share photos this issue instead of a new piece of artwork. Says Carol of these pictures and their subjects, "Walking in the desert has opened my eyes to the beauty of the simple, the subtle, the “ordinary”—aspects of the natural world I had too often assumed were beneath my notice."
